About: Brief Description: Rebel Regiment/Color Guard: This ensemble is a competitive ensemble that competes with the South Carolina Band Director Association organization during the Fall Semester, while attending all football games. We start band camp in June and the season continues until the end of October. The ensemble, usually attends five to six competitions and competes in 2A. As a part of this ensemble we have color guard, which spins flag, rifle, and sabre while learning dance. All students who are interested in color guard or who have played/play and instrument are welcome to join the ensemble, but must audition to participate. Auditions are held in April every year.

Symphonic Band: Symphonic Band is an auditioned ensemble for any students who have participated in middle school band or high school band. Students who audition to become a part of this ensemble and are placed into an honors level band class. This ensemble is competitive and participates in the South Carolina Band Directors Association Concert Performance Assessment during March every year, while performing at school/community events throughout the school year: Veteran's Day, Christmas Program, Holiday Concert, and Spring Concert. Although this is a large ensemble, there are also competitive opportunities for individual musicians: SCBDA Region Band, SCBDA All-State Band, SCBDA Solo & Ensemble, University of South Carolina Honor Band Clinic, Newberry Honor Band Clinic. The students in this ensemble also will have opportunities to work with the middle school band programs throughout the year.

Concert Band: Concert Band is a none-auditioned ensemble for any students who have participated in middle school band or high school band. Students who are in Concert Band are placed within a large ensemble class together. This ensemble is mostly non-competitive, but allows for individual competitive opportunities Although this is a large ensemble, there are also competitive opportunities for individual musicians: SCBDA Region Band, SCBDA All-State Band, SCBDA Solo & Ensemble, University of South Carolina Honor Band Clinic, Newberry Honor Band Clinic. The students in this ensemble also perform at school/community events throughout the school year: Veteran's Day, Christmas Program, Holiday Concert, and Spring Concert. Jazz Band:

Jazz Band: is an ensemble that is provided during Skinny starting in early November. This ensemble is open to any saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, piano, guitar, and/or bass guitar instrumentalist. This is a non-audition ensemble, unless you are a student who does not participate in a regular band class. During the year, the jazz band with perform one concert and perform for the Fine Arts Festival in March.
