The bond secured by Edgefield County School District in 1991 was paid off in March of 2018. That bond provided for the construction of three new schools and the renovation of four others. It has been twenty-five years since major facility needs have been addressed with the exception of the construction of the fieldhouse and the stadium renovation at Strom Thurmond High School. With the assistance of a consulting firm, the district has completed the first steps of a facility needs assessment. The purpose of the study is to provide factual information regarding current and future needs. The times and locations of public information sessions being held across the district are listed below. The purpose of these meetings is to provide all stakeholders the opportunity to hear the results of the needs assessment and to share their insights. We will hold a community meeting at Strom Thurmond High School on Tuesday, May 29th at 6:00pm.

The district is gathering input from all stakeholders regarding the current and future school facility needs of Edgefield County School District. We invite you to view the presentation on our district website, to attend a community information session near you, and to provide your personal recommendations. Thank you for helping us make the best decision for the students and residents of Edgefield County.
